Faculty affiliated with the CCLE teach undergraduate courses in competition law and economics.

Notably, Prof Nicola Theron instructs third-year economics students in undergraduate competition policy at Stellenbosch University.

The CCLE’s staff and associates teach graduate courses in industrial organisation and competition law and economics.

The graduate course in industrial organisation introduces core game-theoretic models and key areas of competition policy, such as collusion, mergers, abuse of dominance, and vertical restraints, as well as current topics like platform markets and drivers of aggregate concentration.

This course is part of the honours and master’s programme in economics offered by Stellenbosch University.

The CCLE supports doctoral research through two channels: a funded residential PhD programme and a programme for staff of the South African competition authorities.

This programme involves a rigorous selection process and is administered by the Graduate School for Economic and Management Sciences.

Current PhD candidates include Wawa Nkosi and Wihan Marais.
